If you’re headed to Disney World and don’t want to wait in line for THE biggest attractions, like TRON, Flight of Passage, or Cosmic Rewind, I have just the solution for you: Lightning Lane Single Pass at Disney World.
This magical pass lets you access the lightning lane for a single ride so that you don’t have to spend an hour or more in the standby line.
But how does it work? Which rides can be picked? How much does it cost? Find out all of that and more in this full guide to Disney World’s Lightning Lane Single Pass.
What is Lightning Lane Single Pass at Disney World?

Lighting Lane Single Pass is a premium pass that gives you access to the lighting lane for a single attraction.
It’s kind of like a skip-the-line pass for the most popular attractions at each park. However, sometimes there are short wait times in the lightning lane line during peak travel periods like Spring Break, Summer, and Christmas.
Lastly, unlike the Multi Pass, if there is a ride photo, you do not get it for free with your purchase.
Which attractions have a Lightning Lane Single Pass?

There are only a handful or rides that have Lightning Lane Single Passes – and of course, it’s the most popular ones:
- Animal Kingdom: Flight of Passage
- Epcot: Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
- Hollywood Studios: Star Wars Rise of the Resistance
- Magic Kingdom: Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
- Magic Kingdom: TRON Lightcycle / Run
How much do Single Passes cost?

Like the Lightning Lane Multi Pass, dynamic pricing is used, so the cost will vary based on a variety of factors, such as how heavy or light the crowds are.
According to Thrill Data, here’s the breakdown of the price ranges:
- Flight of Passage: $11-18 per person
- Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind: $14-19 per person
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train: $10-14 per person
- Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance: $15-25 per person
- TRON Lightcycle / Run: $19-22 per person
How do Lighting Lane Single Passes work?

Up to 2 Lighting Lane Single Passes per day can be purchased ahead of your visit. These passes often sell out by the time your visit rolls around, so you should plan ahead if any of these rides are at the top of your list and you don’t want to wait in line.
If you are staying at a Disney World resort or select neighboring hotels, you can buy Lightning Lane Single Passes starting at 7 AM eastern, 7 days before your check-in day.
If you aren’t staying at one of the above resorts or hotels, you can buy these passes staring at 7 AM eastern 3 days before the date of your visit – and you’ll need to do this for each day of your trip.
Lastly, if you are an annual passholder, you need to have a reservation for the park that the attraction is at if you intend to purchase it for a time slot prior to 2 PM. That is, unless it is a “Good to Go” day, in which case, reservations are not needed.
Is Lighting Lane Single Pass worth it?
In my opinion, the Lightning Lane Single Pass is only sometimes worth the added cost.
Typically I only purchase single passes for Cosmic Rewind. It’s my favorite ride and its standby line is atrociously long, so the added cost is worth it to me.
Every once in a while, I’ll buy a single pass for TRON if I want to ride at night and don’t want to deal with the standby line. The same goes for Flight of Passage if I don’t feel like rope dropping Animal Kingdom.
The rest of the attractions I’ve never purchased single passes for and likely never will. If I feel like going on them, I will either access a single rider line, watch the app for low wait times, or hop in line during fireworks or at park close.
Overall, I think whether a single pass is worth it is truly up to you. But my recommendation is to keep costs down by being selective about which passes you purchase – especially considering all of the other upsells available, like Multi Pass, Premier Pass, etc.
