Nice Ascot!: Best Toy Story Barbie Quotes

We all know Barbie as the spunky, fashionable doll that can do anything from tennis to space travel.

She was my favorite toy growing up and if you’re reading this, she was probably your favorite, too!

From her humble beginnings on toy store shelves to becoming an international icon, Barbie has been a game-changer in popular culture for decades.

Not only is she inspiring and empowering for young people everywhere, she’s also pretty darn hilarious too!

Given her popularity, it was no surprise that our favorite girl popped up in Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story franchise.

And with her own feature-length, live-action film coming up this summer, Barbie, starring Margot Robbie and directed by Greta Gerwig, I thought it’d be fun to celebrate some of her best moments in the Toy Story universe.

So grab a glass of bubbly, put on your best outfit, and get ready for endless laughs and insight with these Toy Story Barbie quotes and scenes.

SPOILER ALERT: This post may contain spoilers to movie or show plots.

Barbie quotes from Toy Story 2

In the sequel to the hit 90s animated film Toy Story, Barbie joined the cast in a supporting role as a tour guide at Big Al’s Toy Barn.

But did you know she was supposed to be in the original Toy Story? Yep – true story! Mattel refused to license the rights, so the script had to be changed, which led to Bo Peep’s character (source).

I’m not sure what changed after the first film, but I bet its success had a lot to do with Mattel letting our favorite doll join the franchise for the sequel.

And you’ll never guess who provided the voice for Barbie! It’s Jodie Benson, who also voiced Ariel in the animated version of The Little Mermaid!

So buckle up because we’re about to take a ride to infinity and beyond with some of the sassiest and most iconic lines from our favorite blonde-haired, blue-eyed fashion doll.

What a great party! – Barbie, as the Barbie dolls are having a beach party in the doll aisle

How low can you go? How low can you go? – Barbie dollss playing limbo at their beach party

Hi! You’ll like Amy. She’s an artist. – Barbie to Stinky Pete, who Amy declares needs a makeover

Remain seated, please. Permanacer sentado, por favor. – Barbie, as Rex trips back into the back of the toy car

Please hold all questions until the end of the tour. Thank you! – Barbie, avoiding answering any questions about the location of Big Al’s office

And this is the Buzz Lightyear aisle. Back in 1995, short-sighted retailers did not order enough dolls to meet demand. – Barbie, as she takes the toys on a tour of the store

I’m Tour Guide Barbie. Please keep your hands, arms, and accessories in the car. And no flash photography. Thank you! – Barbie, as she welcomes the toys to Big Al’s Toy Barn and offers to show them around

We are so glad you came. Bye-bye. Bye-bye. Bye-bye. Bye-bye now. Bye. Bye-bye. Remember: please discard all candy wrappers and popcorn containers in the nearest trash receptacle. Thank you. Okay bye-bye now. Bye-bye. Bye. Okay…are they all gone? Is everybody gone? Huh? Good! Oh my gosh – my cheeks are killing me! I can’t keep smiling like this anymore. I am exhausted! I think I need a break. A little break? Okay. Whew! – Barbie in the end credits, saying goodbye presumably as guests leave the theater

Toy Story 3 Barbie quotes

Barbie is back in Toy Story 3 but this time Ken is along for the ride.

This time she’s dressed like an Aerobics Instructor most of the movie, rather than a tour guide. Although naturally she does sport a few other looks. She is Barbie, after all!

In this film, Andy and Molly’s mom donates a box of toys, mistakenly including Barbie, Woody, Buzz, and a few other faves from the past films, to a local daycare.

At first they think it’s a great move, since there are always children to play with them – until they realize that not all children play nicely!

The toys hatch a plan to escape the daycare and make their way back to Andy and Molly.

And I think we all know who took charge and led the pack here (hint: Barbie!)!

Let’s go over some of her best moments and quotes in this Toy Story film.

Well, Molly and I have been growing apart for years. It’s just… I can’t believe she would throw me away! – Barbie as she realizes Molly has donated her

Lotso: Ken? New toys!
Ken: Far out! Down in a jiff, Lotso!

Our introduction to Ken in Toy Story 3 (2010)

Ken: Hi, I’m Ken.
Barbie: Barbie. Have we ever met?
Ken: Uh-uh. I would have remembered. Love your legwarmers!
Barbie: Nice ascot!

Barbie and Ken’s meet-cute in Toy Story 3 (2010)

Ken: And this… Well, this is where I live. It has a disco, it’s got a dune buggy, and a whole room just for trying on clothes.
Barbie: You have everything!
Ken: Everything except someone to share it with.
Barbie: ::swoons::

You are so smart! – Barbie to Ken

Barbie: Will I see you again?
Ken: Oh, I’ll see you tonight…in my dreams.
Lotso: Ken, let’s get a move on.
Ken: Barbie, come with me! Live in my dream house. I know it’s crazy. I know we just met. Aw heck, you don’t know me from G.I. Joe, but when I look at you, I feel like we were…
Barbie & Ken (together): …made for each other.
Barbie: Yay!
Ken: Yes!

Barbie: I’ll wait up for you!
Ken: Kisses!

Twitch: You got a little keeper yourself, didn’t you, Ken?
Ken: Hey! Lay off, Twitch. Barbie’s different.
Stretch: Aw, Mr. Softy over here.
Chunk: What do you expect from a girl’s toy?
Ken: I’m not a girl’s toy! I’m not! Why do you guys keep saying that?

Barbie: Ken, what’s going on?
Ken: Barbie! I told you to wait in the Dream House.
Barbie: What are you doing to my friends?
Twitch: Get in there! (as they throw the green aliens in a jail-like container)
Ken: Barbie, wait!
Barbie: Don’t touch me! We’re through.
Ken: Barbie! I did…
Barbie: Give me my scarf back!
Ken: Ow!

Barbie: Ken! Ken?
Ken: What do you want?
Barbie: I can’t take it here, Ken! I wanna go to the Butterfly Room. With you!
Ken: Yeah, well. You should have thought of that yesterday.
Barbie: I was wrong. I wanna be with you, Ken, I do. In your Dream House. Please take me away from this! Take me away!
Ken: Darn it, Barbie! Okay. But things are complicated around here. You gotta do what I say.
Barbie: I will, Ken! I promise!

Ken: And this is where the magic happens… (as he turns on the light to a giant walk-in closet).
Barbie: Look at all your clothes! I can’t believe you never brought me up here! Tennis whites? Mission to Mars! ::flips through a rack of clothes::
Ken: I know, I know… Check this out! Kung fu fighting. Campus here – with matching sports pennant, huh? ::flips through another garment rack::
Barbie: Flower power! Oh, Ken!
Ken: No appreciates clothes here, Barbie. No one!
Barbie: Ken… would you model a few outfits for me? Just a few?
(Ken proceeds to model tons of outfits.)

Ken: Uh, Barbie?
(Barbie proceeds to tackle him.)
Barbie: No more games, Ken! What did Lotso do to Buzz? And how do we switch him back?
Ken: You can’t make me talk. You can’t! But I’d like to see you try. (As Barbie gives him a mean look.)

Barbie: Let’s see. Hawaiian surf trunks. ::rips the trunks in half::
Ken: Oh, Barbie! Those were vintage! It’s okay. All right, go ahead. Rip ’em. I don’t care. They’re a dime a dozen.
Barbie: Ooh! Glitter tux! ::rips tux in half::
Ken: Who cares? Who cares? Sequins are tacky. Who cares?
Barbie: Oh! A Nehru jacket.
Ken: Barbie! Not the Nehru.
Barbie: This is from what, 1967?
Ken: The groovy formal collection, yes!
Barbie: What a shame. ::starts to rip jacket in half::
Ken: Oh, no. No! No! No! There’s an instruction manual! Lotso switched Buzz to Demo Mode.
Barbie: Where’s that manual?

Jessie’s right! Authority should derive from the consent of the governed, not from the threat of force. – Barbie, standing up to Lotso.

Ken: Barbie, wait! Don’t do this, Lotso!
Lotso: She’s a Barbie doll, Ken. There’s a hundred million just like her.
Ken: Not to me, there’s not.
Barbie: Oh!
Lotso: Fine! Then why don’t you join her?
Barbie: Oh, Ken!
Ken: Everyone listen! Sunnyside could be cool and groovy if we treated each other fair. It’s Lotso! He’s made us into a pyramid and he put himself on top!
Lotso: Anyone concur with Ken?

Quotes from Toy Story Toons: Hawaiian Vacation

Barbie finally gets a lead role in the Toy Story universe this short film.

She and Ken attempt to stowaway in Bonnie’s backpack so they can go on vacation in Hawaii and have their first kiss in paradise.

Their scheme doesn’t go according to plan, leaving the toys scrambling to bring Hawaii to them, despite it being the snowy winter season.

Barbie: Oh!
Ken: Here’s your bag, Barbie. You can put my luggage right here.
Barbie: Oh Ken, this is so exciting!
Ken: Picture! Say “sunscreen!” ::holds up camera::
Barbie: Sunscreen! ::poses for picture::
Ken: Perfect.

Woody: Barbie? Ken?
Ken: Woody? Hey! You guys are in Hawaii, too! Groovy! We stowed away in Bonnie’s backpack. How’d you guys get here?
Woody: Uh, Ken. This is Bonnie’s bedroom.
Ken: What?

Barbie: Oh! He’s been planning this vacation for months!
Doll: Wow. That’s a lot of numbering. Did he do that all by himself?
Barbie: Ken doesn’t know I know, but this is where he planned to have our very first kiss.
Mr. Potato Head: You haven’t kissed yet?
Barbie: It would have been the perfect vacation.

Barbie: Ken, could you please come out here?
Ken: No!
Barbie: I can’t decide if this handbag matches my shoes.
Ken: Well, are you wearing the pumps or the espadrilles?

Barbie: You’re really rippin’ those curls, Ken.
Ken: Ha ha! Watch me hang ten, Babs.

Thanks, but I have this one covered. Hey Ken, come with me for a minute. – Barbie, as she sets up her and Ken’s first kiss.
::cut to Barbie and Ken kissing outside as snow falls and Ken does the “leg pop.”
