Ant-Man, one of Marvel Studios’ most fun and unique films, was released in 2015 and had the whole world buzzing!

This action-packed film follows Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) who is trying to turn his life around after spending 4 years in jail for stealing.

When he’s approached by retired doctor Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) with an offer to don a superhero suit, Lang must use his newfound powers as Ant-Man to protect Pym’s revolutionary Ant-Man technology from falling into the wrong hands.

With Evangeline Lilly playing Hope van Dyne, Ant-Man’s love interest and mentor, viewers are taken on an adventure through thrilling battles and some truly hilarious moments that make this movie a guaranteed crowd-pleaser.

Enjoy these quotes from the original Ant-Man film.

“You mention my wife again and I’ll show you ferocity.”

In the beginning of the movie, we meet Dr. Hank Pym, a brilliant entomologist and physicist employed by S.H.I.E.L.D., the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division.

While employed with S.H.I.E.L.D., Pym creates a technology called Pym particles that can shrink or enlarge real-life objects.

We also learn that he lost his wife, Janet Van Dyne, while on a mission to disable a Russian missile, while they were both using his technology.

Due to his loss, he realizes how dangerous his technology can be, so he refuses to share the information with his employer and quits.

“Man, you guys got the weirdest goodbye rituals.”

Fast forward to the present day, we meet Scott Lang, who we quickly learn is a convicted thief with a master’s degree in electrical engineering.

As he is set to get released, we find him in a fight with another inmate, which turns out to be a goodbye ritual, hence the line.

After he is released, Lang has a hard time finding a job due to his past, eventually landing a thankless position at the ice cream chain, Baskin Robbins.

That is, until his manager, Dale, finds out about his thieving past.

Scott Lang: Dale, look, it wasn’t a violent crime. I’m a good worker.

Dale: “No it wasn’t a violent crime, it was a cool crime. I’ll tell you what though. This will be totally off the books, off the records…but if you want to grab one of those Mango Fruit Blasts on your way out the door, I’ll just pretend I didn’t see it.”

“Mommy’s so happy you’re here, she choked on her drink.”

Teeny-tiny Cassie Lang (Abby Ryder Fortson), Scott’s daughter, delivered this one-liner after Scott shows up uninvited to the little girl’s birthday party.

While meant to be a bit of comedic relief, it also sets up more of Ant-Man’s back story: a young daughter, a lost love, and another layer of conflict and challenges for our antagonist.

In this scene, we also hear Scott say “I’ve missed so much time and I want to be a part of her life. What do I do?” when talking to his ex-wife, Maggie (Judy Greer), which instantly gave me chills when thinking about the upcoming 3rd film, Quantumania.

“You’re a success, Darren. You deserve everything coming your way.”

In a chilling scene between Hope and Darren, we learn just how twisted Darren is and that Hope may not be the traitor we were led to believe she was.

Darren Cross: “You know I’ve been thinking a lot about gratitude lately. And today, during my morning meditation an interesting thought occurred to me and I think it might apply to you, too.”

Hope van Dyne: “How’s that?”

Darren: Gratitude can be forgiveness. I’ve spent years carrying around my anger for Hank Pym. I devoted my genius to him. I could have worked anywhere. I chose my mentor poorly. You didn’t even have a choice. He never believed in you. It’s a shame what we had to do, but he forced us to do it, didn’t he? But we shouldn’t be angry, we should be grateful. Because his failures as a mentor, as a father, forced us to spread our wings.

Hope: You’re a success, Darren. You deserve everything coming your way.

“No, I didn’t steal anything! I was returning something I stole.”

After breaking into Pym’s house and stealing the Ant-Man suit, trying it on, and getting the surprise of his life, Scott quickly returns the suit.

He almost gets away with it until the cops show up and he unintentionally tells on himself.

“My days of breaking into places and stealing shit are done.”

We quickly learn that the theft of the Ant-Man suit was intended by Hank, but Hope had doubts – hence the cops being called.

After sorting it all out, Hank convinces Scott to don the Ant-Man suit and help him in his quest to stop Darren Cross.

Hank Pym: If you can help me, I promise I can help you be with your daughter again. Now, are you ready to redeem yourself?

Scott Lang: Absolutely. My days of breaking into places and stealing shit are done. What do you want me to do?

Hank Pym: I want you to break into a place and steal some shit.

“You think you can stop the future? You’re just a thief!”

In an epic showdown between Yellowjacket, the villain Cross eventually turns into, and Ant-Man, Yellowjacket attempts to insult Ant-Man by referencing his past.

Yellowjacket: You think you can stop the future with a heist?

Ant-Man: It was never just a heist!

“You can’t destroy power. All you can do is make sure it is in the right hands.” – Hank Pym

In one of Ant-Man’s post-credit scenes, Dr. Pym delivers this introspective line as he reveals a second suit powered by Pym particles to his daughter, Hope.

This scene sets up the start of the sequel, Ant-Man and the Wasp, which didn’t come out until 2018 – 3 whole years later!

Quotes from Captain America: Civil War (2016)

Captain America: Civil War, released in 2016, was the third installment of the Captain America series.

The movie begins with Steve Rogers, aka Captain America (Chris Evans), leading a new team of Avengers that includes old favorites like Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.), Ant-Man, the Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), and the Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), as well as newcomers Vision (Paul Bettany), Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), and Spiderman (Tom Holland).

This team faces a major challenge when the government puts forward a proposal to regulate superhero activity following collateral damage caused during an earlier mission.

Some on the team are for regulation, such as Iron Man, while others push back against it, such as Captain America, creating a monumental civil war between friends and allies.

Ant-Man comes into play midway through the movie as he creates distractions to help Captain America perform his higher goal of saving innocent lives despite Hydra forces attempting to stop him at all costs.

“Does anybody have any orange slices?”

After an epic battle between the Avengers, in which Ant-Man uses his ability to enlarge himself to help win the battle for Captain America’s side, Lang delivers this epic one-liner.

Quotes from Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018)

When Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, and Michael Douglas return in the 2018 Marvel Studios movie Ant-Man and the Wasp, you know you’re in for an exciting ride!

The film follows major characters Scott Lang/Ant-Man (Rudd) and Hope van Dyne/The Wasp (Lilly) as they team up to embark on a mission to battle a new foe and uncover secrets from their past.

With Scott now being under house arrest after his involvement with the Avengers in Captain America: Civil War, he and Hope must work quickly and discreetly to complete the mission, striving to balance their personal lives amidst chaos all around them.

Along the way, Hank Pym (Douglas) teams up to create a formidable force against their nemesis, creating an explosive conclusion that will leave fans of Marvel enthralled.

“I started to wonder, could your mother still be alive?”

The movie opens up shortly after the end-credits scene from the prior Ant-Man film. Hank theorizes that after Scott was able to return from the quantum realm, perhaps his wife, Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), might be able to as well.

“Relax. No one’s gonna recognize us.”

With Hank and Hope on the run, and Scott supposed to be on house arrest, Scott is naturally nervous about being recognized out in public while the trio heads out to talk with Dr. Bill Foster, Hank’s former business partner.

Hank Pym: Relax. No one’s gonna recognize us.

Scott Lang: What, because of hats and sunglasses? It’s not a disguise, Hank. We look like ourselves at a baseball game.

“Well, the 60s were fun, but now I’m paying for it.”

Up until his death in YEAR, Stan Lee, the creator of Marvel Comics, always had a fun cameo in Marvel films.

In this quick clip, he plays a bystander who witnesses his car shrink in front of his eyes during a battle rolling through the streets of San Francisco but quickly assumes it was a hallucination.

“Anyone see a Southern gentleman carrying a building?”

As the battle continues, Ant-Man finds himself in touristy areas of San Francisco while trying to find Sonny Burch, who has stolen the shrunken Pym lab.

Quotes from Avengers: Endgame (2019)

Graphic with a blue background and red and white stars. Text reads a funny quote from Scott Lang, aka Ant-Man: As far as I'm concerned, that's America's a**.
Graphic by Meg Frost, all rights reserved.

2019 saw the ending of one of the greatest Marvel sagas in Avengers: Endgame.

After a cataclysmic event caused by Thanos that left many presumed dead, Scott Lang returns from the quantum realm thanks to a rat (yes, really). To him, he was gone for just five hours, but to everyone else, it’s been five years.

With his second return from time travel, the Avengers unite, along with Ant-Man, to find a way to undo the damage done by Thanos and restore balance to the universe.

“I think you look great, Cap. As far as I’m concerned, that’s America’s ass.”

Per usual, Scott Lang delivers some witty one-liners for comedic relief in a very tense film.

And of course, this line has become a stand-out that probably haunts Chris Evans to this day.

“Time doesn’t work that way. Changing the past doesn’t change the future.”

When the Avengers are trying to come up with a plan to defeat Thanos, the Hulk is skeptical that a time heist will work.

To which Scott Lang replies, “So Back to the Future‘s a bunch of bullshit?”

Gotta love the pop culture references to other science fiction fan-favorite films!

“Look, if you do this and it doesn’t work, you’re not coming back.”

Scott attempts to warn Tony and Steve what Hank warned him way back when he first became Ant-Man.

Except in this instance, the time heist was their only option, so warning them was a bit unnecessary – no one needs their nerves worked up more than they already are!

Scott Lang: Captain. Steve. Sorry, America. Rogers. Look, if you do this and it doesn’t work, you’re not coming back.

Tony Stark: Thanks for the pep talk, pissant.

Quotes from Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023)

The highly anticipated movie Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023) is finally here.

Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly are back as the eponymous characters in another action-packed movie, this time introducing a new protagonist: Kang the Conqueror, played by Jonathan Majors.

“I’ve never had a normal life.”

In the latest installment of the Ant-Man film series, Cassie is no longer a kid and is seemingly following in her dad’s footsteps, much to his chagrin.

Scott Lang: You know, I promised your mom that you would only use this stuff when one of us was around. It’s really dangerous tech.

Cassie Lang: I know it’s dangerous.

Scott: What if the cops took it from you, hm? What if you lost it?

Cassie: I didn’t lose the suit.

Scott: You have a suit? Wait, YOU HAVE A SUIT?

Cassie: I know how to take care of myself, ok? Trust me, I’m pretty good at it by now.

Scott: Ouch.

Cassie: Look, I didn’t mean it like that. I’m sorry.

Scott: I know. It’s ok. It’s alright. I get it. I just think you should get to have a normal life.

Cassie: Dad, a guy dressed like a bee tried to kill me in my room when I was six. I’ve never had a normal life.

“He can rewrite existence and shatter timelines.”

Janet Van Dyne warns the crew just how powerful Kang is.

“Just a man who’s lost a lot of time, like you.”

In this scene, Scott meets the newest Marvel villain, Kang the Conqueror, in the quantum realm.

Kang: You’re an interesting man, Scott Lang.

Scott Lang: I don’t know who you are, but you’ve made a big mistake, ok? I’m an Avenger. I’ve called the other Avengers.

Kang: You’re an Avenger. Have I killed you before?

Scott Lang: What?

Kang: They all blow together after a while. You’re not the one with the hammer…?

Scott Lang: No, that’s Thor. We get confused a lot. Similar body types. Who are you?

Kang: Just a man who’s lost a lot of time, like you. But we can help each other with that.

“I don’t have to win. We both just have to lose.”

In this scene, we begin to understand the possible sacrifice that our hero may need to make to out-conquer Kang the Conqueror.

Kang: “You thought you could win…”

Ant-Man: “I don’t have to win. We both just have to lose.”

More quotes from Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

“Wait, wait a minute. You’re sending a signal to the quantum realm? Turn it off, now!” – Janet Van Dyne

“You think this is new to me? Do you know how many rebellions I put down? How many worlds I’ve conquered? How many Avengers I’ve killed? And you think you can beat me? I am Kang!” – Kang the Conqueror

“You always were a brother to me. And at least I died an Avenger.” – M.O.D.O.K.

“Let me make this easy for you. You will bring me what I need, or I will kill your daughter in front of you, then make you relive that moment, over and over again in time, endlessly, until you beg me to kill you. Do we understand?” – Kang the Conqueror

“I have…holes!” – Veb
