A Complete Guide to Lilo and Stitch at Disney World

Are you a Lilo & Stitch superfan planning your next adventure to Disney World? You’re in for a treat!

Disney World is brimming with touches of aloha, playful chaos, and tropical fun inspired by everyone’s favorite blue alien and his ‘ohana. Whether you’re looking for character meet-and-greets, Hawaiian-inspired cuisine, or the perfect Stitch merchandise, this guide has got you covered.

Here’s your ultimate checklist of must-do experiences for a Lilo & Stitch fan at Disney World.

The best time to visit Disney World if you love Stitch

If you’re a big Stitch fan, then you probably already know when the best time to visit is: June 26, aka Stitch Day!

If you’re still a bit lost, this date is a nod to Stitch’s original name, Experiment 626. Clever, huh?

Anyway, on this special day, Disney pulls out all the stops to celebrate our favorite fluffy blue friend.

You’ll likely find limited-run Stitch-themed snacks, as well as pop-up meet-n-greets at Magic Kingdom.

It’s basically Christmas for Stitch fans, so if you haven’t already been on this day, put it down on your bucket list.

Aside from THE main date, if you want a unique Stitch meet-and-greet opportunity, be sure to go to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party to meet Stitch in his Elvis costume or peruse Epcot for Lilo & Stitch artwork at the Epcot Festival of the Arts.

Where to stay for Lilo & Stitch at Disney World getaway

No matter your budget, there are a two great choices on where to stay at Disney World if your favorite characters are Lilo & Stitch. Let’s go over each option: Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort.

Option 1: Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Nothing screams Hawaiian paradise quite like Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

This deluxe resort is themed after various Polynesian cultures, including Hawaii, which is where our mischievous friends hail from.

And while most guest rooms and the island tower kiddie splash pad are Moana themed, rather than Stitch, it’s not overwhelming. The lush greenery, tiki torches, and deep ocean color scheme just ooze Hawaiian vibes.

That said, this resort isn’t void of Lilo & Stitch. You’ll find plenty of Stitch merchandise in the BouTiki gift shop, plus there’s a character breakfast featuring our favorite pals that I’ll go into more depth later.

Last, but not least, if you really want to splash out, this resort boasts over the water bungalows complete with plunge pools where you can watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks.

Option 2: Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort

If you prefer a budget option, Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort’s preferred section and main pool are Surfing themed, complete with giant surfboards and a sandy boardwalk outlining the pool.

The bright, fun decor screams sunny days and good times, and what better way to channel your inner surf champ than staying in a spot that’s all about the sport?

Plus, since it’s a value resort, you’ll have more cash left over for churros, dole whips, or that irresistible Stitch plush you’ve been eyeing.

I’ve stayed at this resort multiple times, so be sure to check out my All-Star Sports Resort review for more insight.

Meet Lilo and Stitch at the ‘Ohana Best Friends Character Breakfast

What better way to start your day than with breakfast alongside Lilo, Stitch, and their Disney pals?

Located at the Polynesian Village Resort, this character dining experience at ‘Ohana serves up family-style platters with everything from scrambled eggs and pineapple-coconut bread to Mickey-shaped waffles alongside island-inspired juices, like the infamous POG juice.

Take photos, snag autographs, and enjoy good food while feeling like part of the Lilo & Stitch ohana.

Pro tip: Make reservations early through the Disney Dining app because this is a fan-favorite spot!

Treat yourself to Hawaiian food

If breakfast is not your thing, there are several other excellent eateries for ono grindz at the Polynesian Village Resort featuring Hawaiian and tropical inspired dishes, such as moco loco at Kona Cafe and spam musubi at the all-new Wailulu Bar & Grill.

Sometimes you’ll find Stitch-adorned pastries or Hawaiian flavors, like the POG macarons (passionfruit-orange-guava) pictured above, at Kona Island, too!

Relax with a tropical cocktail

If you’re just after a quick drink before heading elsewhere, check out the Tambu Lounge, Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace, or Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto, all the the Polynesian.

My top pick goes to Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace, which has outdoor seating nearby the lagoon, making it the perfect spot to catch the Magic Kingdom fireworks.

Bonus: Try the Thai Peanut flatbread! While not Hawaiian, it is one of my favorite snacks from all of the spots at this resort.

Beat the heat with Dole Whip

If a sweet treat is more your thing, you’re gonna want to try the infamous pineapple Dole Whip. And if pineapple isn’t your fave flavor, many spots have different tropical flavors like coconut, orange, and lime.

My favorite options are pineapple with a shot of rum or plain lime in a dish.

A few top spots to get Dole Whip are:

  • Pineapple Lanai at Polynesian Village Resort
  • Aloha Isle at Magic Kingdom
  • Swirls on the Water at Disney Springs

Ride the waves at Typhoon Lagoon

Hang ten just like Stitch and friends do in the movie, at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park.

Surfing lessons are not available, but if you’ve already learned the basics, you can join open surf time before or after park close. Additionally, you can reserve a private time slot to get more waves compared to open surf.

As of May 2025, group surf time starts at $270 for 3 hours. Private surf time starts at $1450 for 100 waves. Evening slots can add additional waves, starting at $300 for 125 extra waves. For more information, check out the official booking page.

BONUS: While not an official meet-and-greet, Stitch often pops up at this water park, so be sure to camp out so you can meet your favorite alien turned household pet.

Visit the Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana

Epcot’s newest attraction, Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana, is a whimsical experience that celebrates the natural beauty of water.

While not directly Lilo & Stitch-themed, this interactive walkthrough delivers Polynesian vibes that Lilo would surely approve of.

Plus, the educational elements neatly tie into the Hawaiian appreciation for nature. Walk away feeling reconnected to the spirit of the islands.

BONUS: Hop on over to The Seas with Nemo & Friends ride next door at hit up the aquarium for additional ocean vibes.

Sing along at the Enchanted Tiki Room

If you find yourself at Magic Kingdom after your Ohana Best Friends breakfast at the Polynesian, make a point to check out The Enchanted Tiki room. It’s a charming audio-animatronic show with tropical flair.

While it’s not Lilo & Stitch themed, it is very much filled with island vibes. Maybe in the future we’ll get an update with our favorite alien.

Wander through space in Tomorrowland

Back in the day there used to be a Stitch themed attraction. I’ll be honest, as much as I love our fuzzy blue friend, it was one of my least favorite attractions because the harnesses were extremely uncomfortable. So I’m not surprised this attraction didn’t last long despite Lilo & Stitch’s popularity.

That said, Tomorrowland is filled with many space themed attractions that will remind you of Stitch’s native home in outer space, such as Astro Orbiter, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, and Space Mountain.

There’s even a small Stitch appearance in Tomorrowland that eagle-eyed fans will notice, especially if you have a MagicBand+, so stay sharp!

Shop for Stitch merchandise at Disney Springs

Round off your experience by picking up some Lilo & Stitch themed souvenirs!

Disney Springs is a treasure trove for Hawaiian-inspired brands like Na Hoku, OluKai, and ALOHA Collection. You’ll find everything from apparel to accessories with island-style flair.

You can usually find a few Lilo & Stitch themed ornaments and Christmas decor at Disney’s Days of Christmas, as well.

But the real jackpot for Stitch lovers is World of Disney, the largest Disney store in the entire world.

This shop is always stocked with tons of Stitch merchandise, PLUS there’s a giant Stitch statue above the World of Disney sign that you’ll want to grab a photo with.

Plan your perfect Lilo & Stitch day at Disney World

No matter how you choose to explore Disney World, these must-dos will ensure you soak in all the best tropical vibes and Lilo & Stitch magic.

Whether you’re planning to eat all your favorite Hawaiian and tropical snacks, loading up on Stitch merch, or learning to surf, there’s no shortage of adventures for fans of Lilo & Stitch.

Last, but not least, don’t forget to reserve your dining spots and experiences early so you don’t miss out. And if you happen to not find the time slot you want, be sure to check back closer to your trip dates, as many people will cancel or change their plans as it gets closer to go-time.
